Aloe vera is one of those natural skincare products that stood the test of time. Certain trends come and go but aloe vera has been around forever.

It was an ancient remedy for many skin conditions. Egyptians used it to treat burns, heal wounds and Cleopatra used it as a part of her regular skincare routine.

For your face mask you can use fresh aloe vera gel you take directly from the plant. Or you can use one of the many store bought gels available.

After you make a mask, store it in an airtight container for up to a week.

To make the face mask it’s best to use an immersion blender to nicely emulsify all of the ingredients.

Before applying any skin product for the first time, it’s always best to test it on a small, hidden area of skin. Just to check if you have intolerance to some of the ingredients in the product.

Best Store Bought Aloe Vera Gels

You can never buy 100% pure aloe vera gel. Because store bought gels need to have at least 6 months long shelf life, they have to contain some amount of preservatives. Still that doesn’t mean you have to settle for a long list of ingredients you don’t want or need.

Luckily there are high quality options for store bought aloe vera gels that contain pure aloe vera gel and only the necessary amount of preservatives.

These are the 4 best store bought aloe vera gels I found:
